86 Carrera question
Hello all, need help sourcing a small part, my rear jump seats dont stay in the upright position, what do I need to buy to make them stay up? Seems like there is a small securing pin pictured in the owners manual, that I dont have! Is that it? Does PP sell this?

I'm curious on this one too. I'm missing one of the pull knobs on my rear seat in an '85 cab.

Alex,
I am guessing that is a part you are actually going to need to go to the dealer for. I ran into a couple items like that. They will be able to pull up a picture and order one for one. Bill |

My '85 Targa rear deck has leather straps with snaps at the end that attach to the seat backs to keep them upright when not occupied. Don't know if the '86s added a securing pin.

Mine also had the leather strap and a snap on the seat backrest. Never seen anything else than that used in various 911 cars.

My '86 has a little leather strap with a snap on the end. If you were handy with leather, you could probably manufacture one for a few bucks. Look at the backs of your flip-up backseats -- do they have little snap-buttons on them?

My 86 had a little black pin that you pulled on towards the middle of the car. It was held in place with spring tension. When pulled out, the seats could be leaned forward, then it would pop back in place. It worked just fine.
Odd, I thought they were all like that. You learn somethign every day... Bill |

The pin-style lock was actually an '87 model year change, but late '86 models have them. My car was built in July 1986 and has the pin-style lock.
