Mobil 1 for $2.16/Quart

I don't use synthetic oil in my 911, but I do use it in several of my other vehicles. Following is the best deal I've ever gotten on Mobil 1 so far:

Pep Boys has a $1.00 calendar that has a coupon in it that gives you 3 quarts of Mobil 1 for free if you buy 3 quarts. At the store I went to today, Mobil 1 was $3.99/quart. This works out to $11.97 for 6 quarts, plus $1.00 for the calendar, for a total 0f $12.97 for 6 quarts out the door.

I carted off the 4 cases that my local store had in stock and I'll be looking for more during my weekend road trip. All I can say is "Ya'll better get there before I do"!!

Last time I was home, Wal-Mart still has the 5 qt jugs of M1 for about $19. They used to put these on sale for $17.88. It ain't $2.16, but it's their everyday price now... I think.

I'm paying $4.50 to $4.75 a quart here on base. But, a 4 liter jug in town is €55! That's €13.75 per liter, which comes to $17.05 per quart at today's exchange rate! Needless to say, I don't complain about $4.75.

A couple of months ago I was at the local Walmart and was relunctantly going to purchase one 5 quart container of Mobil 1 to add to the remainder I already had at home - enough for one oil change. When the cashier rang up the price I was charged $15.35 (tax and oil recycling charge). I immediately ran out to my car and put my purchase away and re-entered the store and bought two more containers - the cashier said, "Hey, weren't you here just two minutes ago...". Over the next 10 days I exhausted their entire supply of Mobil 1 15W-50 (I had 15 of these 5 quart containers neatly placed on my workbench). It was simply too good of a deal to pass on. Oddly, all the other Mobil 1 oils were ringing up as $19.82 (without tax and recycling charge).

And I thought I was obsessive for having two pair of seats, a couple of extra door knob surrounds and two large plastic containers of car wax, leather cleaner and other detailing materials.
