Dyno at Hi Elevation in So Cal
 

I need to find a Drive on Dyno that is at or near 5000ft in So Cal.

Denver?

That just a wee bit to far to drive.

Yeah, but there might be one there at 5000 feet. San Diego, no.

What about high desert? Palmdale, Victorville?

Victorville is 2900' and Palmdale is 2600. There are no auto related businesses listed in Big Bear.

You think there is a Roll on Dyno in Bishop? I have seen Porsches in a shop in Bishop, but a rolling dyno?

What will you put on the dyno? In other words, what's the engine specs? The reason I ask is might there be some sort of equation one can use to at least guess at hp depending on elevation for two similarly set up engines? In short, measure one at sea level or high altitude, and adjust with percentages their relative loss or gain?

I know Fintstone has a fairly modded CIS 3.0 up in Albuquerque, and I think, at that altitude, puts out about 200 hp, where at sea level, he could be good for about 230.

Shoot him a PM and see what he thinks. This is only a thought.

Bring your car to Denver; everything is the same as Mexico City except we don’t have the smog. There are plenty of good shops & tuners willing to help, chassis dynos, and access to tracks for testing. Pueblo Motorsports Park (2 hours South of Denver) would be my choice. You can find 80F days there this time of year.

Could you use a restrictor on the intake? Steve Wong might have better insight into the level of restriction required to simulate X% drop in O2 levels.
