16x8 Fuchs question
I know most people want to run the 951 16x8 offsets to fit in the rear of narrow bodied or SC cars, but what about the front of a turbo/RSR bodied car? Anyone know if they will fit OK? or will they rub on the inside? Im loooking for a set of regular offset 16x8s and they are pretty rare, So im wondering if I could use the 944 T wheels, but am worried that they will be to little of an offset.
Anyone? or can anyone post the actual offsets? Thanks |
Prolly need a little spacing...

For use on a 930 or RSR front ~1" spacers would be used. |
Thanks, I guess I did get that backwards. I figured I would have to use spacers if used in the front, but was trying to avoid using that.
Whats the difference in the offset? @ 18mm? OK, I found the wheel chart I had. I didnt realize the 944 wheels were on there. Thanks. |
a +23.3 used w/ 18mm spacer becomes a +5.3.
a +23.3 w/ a 1" spacer becomes a -2.1 I don't have a lot of 930 fitment #s early 930s w/ 7" +23.3 Fuchs used a 1" front spacer, the later ones had additional hub o/s so direct comparison is harder to make. a +23.3 8 sticks outboard .5" more than a +23.3mm 7" Here are the relative positions http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1100668288.jpg |
I'd try to stick with finding the +10.6 o/s 16x8 Fuchs. Both the 9903/911 8's and the 951 8's are equally hard to find/hard to get for a decent price.
Apparently there's no problem with brake clearance (for turbo brakes) either? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1058944960.jpg That's a Turbo Look wearing the 930/911 Fuchs up front shod with 225/50 tires. |
