Forward Air shipping ?
I have a 915 tranny to ship from Mass. to Calif. and would like to use Forward Air. For those who have used Forward Air to ship a 915, how much does it weigh? Can I just strap it to a pallet or do I need to build a wood crate for it? Will a cardbord box work?

Pallet is OK, I used shrink wrap as well...drain it, bring cash. They do portal to portal shipping only...they will weigh it for you....

FORWARD AIR?
slowly I turned, step by step, inch by inch ... I am not saying they are an overall bad company, but they recently "lost" an engine that I had shipped from CA to NY. Argh! Going through the claim now... Last edited by john_colasante; 11-17-2004 at 09:37 PM.. |

mikez - The cust serv rep says must be boxed, but it seems other have shipped with just strapping to a pallet. I think it varies from each terminal.
john - I heard only good things about Forward Air, hope you get your claim settled soon. But I can understand not recommending it. |
