I think Porsche went after them as an unlicensed product. My caps had them but they were very worn and past their prime so I finally picked up flat 356 hood badges and used them.
I had to drill a single hole in the middle and lightly counter-sink it to clear the back. It wasn't quite as flush as I wanted so I got a small end mill tool and put it in the drill press and lightly faced the emblem cast in the cap. It sunk it to be exactly flush and it looks way better. The last touch was putting a little electricians putty behind it so it can't spin. Wayne

I also used the 356 hood badges on my wheel center caps. I made a template of the badge out of cardboard (punch hole in the cardboard and then draw the badge outline) which I used to locate the position of the new hole. I then epoxied the badges in place and also put a press on retainer on the pin "just in case". Even with the badges mounted on top of the center cap, they look very nice and have received many complements.

OK, so am I reading this right? I see these on Pelican for $40-70 each? I've got a GP White car with white wheels. What do you think: Gold or Silver? Anyone want to photoshop some onto the car? (see link below for big pic)
