Spoiler add ons

I have seen pics on the forum of cars that appear to have add-on spoilers on their turbo tails for track purposes. Are these kits or are people fabricating them?

List this pic?

I've never seen one on a Turbo tail, but many of the fiberglass parts vendors have them. I fabricated mine.

Yeah, just like that. What did you use for the cross piece? Did you fabricate that as well?

The element on mine is the orginal element, I just created risers out of aluminium to raise it a bit.

Many of the fiberglass suppliers sell their own wing elements and riser kits. For example, check out the ones in the GT Racing catalog: http://www.gt-racing.com/catalog/default.htm - looks like they're in the $500 - $1000 range

The basis for a lot of these types of tails is the RSR 3.8 rear wing. There are newer ones but that is the first common one. A lot of companies make them. The upper wing/element bolts to the upright edges of the tail. A variety of companies make the aluminum extension to raise the wing up into cleaner air.

The one pictured above is a later style of tail. It is very similar but it has the air inlets on the front corners of the spoiler.

I would suggest that you do a search of this forum for threads that deal with peoples impression of the quality of the various manufacturers work. It can vary a lot.
