Friends Metal Shop.... What do you need?

A good friend has a metal shop, fabricates chutes for laundry, and mail. Mailboxes, for office bldgs...ect....
He can make anything from plate, sheet, metal.

Is there something in high demand our community would like him to produce?

My thinking is pedals, or aluminum plates to replace the cardboard foot boards......

What do you think?

can he fab. a muffler out of Ti?

or copy the SSI units?

or make strong, reliable, light-wt version of the engine carrier mount? (the heavy thing the Xbar mounts on to)

How about a cool tow hook, or cup holder.
Guage holder?

Easy and simple, an upside-down L that slides into the ashtray and holds an iPod.

So this thing easily slides into the ashtray, the ashtray closes almost completely and the iPod would sit upright facing the driver. It's in a perfect position in the cockpit (unlike a lot of the factory switches and gauges) and close to the head-unit for decent iTrip operation.

19.99 and I'd buy one. Plus you can make a bunch for other vehicles. I'll design it and I get a percentage of each sale (gotta fund my boost addiction somehow!)

Good idea. Velcro attachment to the ipod?
He will be looking to help us with something, rather than a profit center.

actually have the two bottom corners "intact" to hold the iPod so you can set it in, and still plug in attachments to the bottom (charger) and top (mini-stereo plug or iTrip or headphones).

I've got a short drive to work in my 930 every day, but seem to find a lot of time to a) find flaws in my leather and b) think about the easiest way to mount an iPod with no modification needed.

I'm always about helping the community! Especially if we can make money too!

Ben doesn't do Ti - that's why I suggested it.

I don't have a pic of the engine carrier - it's on the back of every engine tho.

Shoot People sqwauk at the 450 starting price I can't imagine when people were told 1200 for a muffler That really would not save that much weight over mine.. IMHO I Was thinking of air filter housings for the Ibitz EFI kits. I teach welding and metal science in a community college and have integrated many of our ideas for small projects in the past (NOT MUFFLERS!!!!!!!) and have found That most are to time consuming for what the return would be but work fantastic for training of fabriction to the students.

You want to mount your Ipod to your forehead?

Air filter housing, that sounds like a great idea. Make the engine bay look a lot better!
