Fog light problems

My '79SC has a small problem with its fog lights. When I first got the car it would blow fuses left and right. I have narrowed it to the left light. which now does not blow the fuse but will only come on if you get out of hte car and tap in the light. That's right tap the glass, not a fun idea when you might need to use the light while driving. Anyone got any ideas? I cleaned the light out and have put it back together several times but no luck.

Sounds like you have a loose connection on the bulb itself. The only connection to it is the wire which is wrapped around the tip sticking out of the bulb filament.

I just replaced mine - picked one up at PB for about five bucks.

Sounds like the best way to go thanks.
