Removing rear 1/4 window

Ok, I need to get this thing out and back in. I've done the searches and found some good info. I have a question though. I've removed the interior trim piece at the bottom of the window. Now I understand, (starting and the bottom), that I need to lift the rubber seal up but when I try to lift it there's nothing to wedge it on or over, it just goes right back into place.

Am I missing something? How do I start lifting one part up and make it stay while moving over and lifting more of the seal?

Thanks,

Nikolai

Why did you remove the interior trim piece?!?

It was 3 screws and it was in the way of the rubber seal. Why the "?!?"?

Are you using soapy water and a piece of 3/16" rope?

When I put the unit back in I will be. For now I just need to know how to pry up the seel on the inside. Do I pry it up and push the window out at the same time? Will it move that much? I'm kind of scared to wreck the seal so I'm not cranking on it too hard as of yet.

THanks,

Nikolai

To remove it you have to apply steady pressure on the glass from the inside towards the bottom and pry the rubber over the lip starting in the front corner and working back some and then up the front vertical some, it takes a while to get started but once it does start to move it's easy.....don't be tempted to just push it once it's started, you have to keep lifting the rubber until the glass is almost completely out. Re-installation is a P.I.T.A if you've never done it before. Good luck.
