should it smoke?Help

I just got my 72 2.4 to start after sitting for about 4 years.
This is my first P car and I not sure if it should smoke.

THe engine fires right up and idle high about 1200 rpm

After a minute or so the tailpipe started smoking is this normal?

Does it smoke while driving, or while sitting at a stoplight after warmup? If it does either of those you may have a problem. Otherwise I would not worry.

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years.

I have not driven it yet, this is just the warm up, and it seems to go away.
