Back To The Past?
Hello
There's an early 911 (pre impact bumper) for sale that I'm thinking of buying. However it's been future-dated as its bodywork has been changed to '74 short hood RSR fibreglass bodywork (no bumper absorbers, just lightweight for racing). Do you know if it's possible to change it back to original long hood? Has any of the chassis underneath been irreversibly modified, in other words, hacked? I believe this car does not have a front oil cooler like a real RSR though. Secondly, the outer rear fenders would have to be replaced completely as it's been flared very wide... Easy job or no? thanks in advance Last edited by blue72s; 11-21-2004 at 07:09 AM.. |

anything is possible but, it sounds like you would need a good deal to make this worth it.. If you are going to modify the body and arent worried about originality you could back date an sc and they already have rs width flares. Instead of RSR. Not sure what they did under the hood to make the short hood fit... you'd need to look underneath and look for signs of modification.. some have been just cut/trimmed and are the original hood even... are the flares fiberglass? that stuff is a real pain I would keep looking from what you've said so far..
