PC-680 relocation..... Why?
There ya go, what am I missing here? Considering the already tail heavy issues of the 911, what is the reasoning behind moving the battery even further back?
I am putting in a PC-680 now and have a pretty slick mount in mind right where the original sat, is it an explosion thing?

Len, it helps the weight distribution on race cars.
The PC-680 is already so much lighter than the stock battery that I don't think there's anything to gain by relocating it for a street car. Also, many race cars cut out the battery boxes to accomodate oil coolers in the fenders, so they don't have a place to put it. For your stock SC, the important thing is to mount it securely so it won't come loose, and mount it in a fashion such that if you were to be involved in a collision, you would minimize the chance that the exposed terminals would push into the fuel tank, giving new meaning to the words, "ignition points."

Ah, that makes sense, thanks. I think I'll just mount mine where she sits.
