Max Tire Diameter (not width)

Reposting this under a new subject just to get a few more answers. Can I stick 205/225 tires with high aspect ratios giving me 27" overall diameter in the wheelwells of my 930 (remember, it's got flares)? This is 2" diameter bigger than stock.

Why?.....all Porsche tires since the stone age to today use tires of approx 25" diameter. Looking for Bonneville speed records ? :)

What in the hell would you want to do that for?? To fill up the wheel wells? Get the car lowered. If you want 27" tall tires trade your 911 in on a '78 Cadillac El Dorado Barritz or a 4Runner.

He wants snow tires w/ more ground clearance.

My advice was 215/55 & 225/55 25.3 & 25.8" respectively

Turbo in the snow? They're tricky enough to drive on perfect roads.

Bill Verburg 11-22-2004 05:31 PM

Nobody said it was a good idea:(

Won't do much for your torque either.

No Torque
Just aire
and not in the tyres!
