Question - When I started luggage/glove/interior lights/clock wires were all fried. Everything else seems to work fine.
Same circuit - So I replaced the black power lead for all these and corrected bad grounds. Lights work --- all new Situation now. Lights will not turn on from the door opening/closing, but circuit works as should??? Glove box works - manual not by switch. Funny thing is while driving the targa bar light will turn on the buzzer if switched to on - as if the door was open. The ground circuit is connected to the annoying warning buzzer (which mine goes off when you open the door and the ignition does not turn it off. Normal or not? Biggest issue is now my fuel gauge does not work. I checked sender and it's at about 52 ohms (so 1/4 tank). I noticed that the sender connector has continuity with chassis and black wire. The sender is ground connecting to the brown on the connector. Could not measure any resistance at the green wire guage side. Didn't know if this is normal or something is foul. Could be my luck ---- Odometer went out(little gears) and maybe thinking fuel gauge, but the whole buzzer light thing seems screwy. Sorry for long - but I am burnt out. Thanks for any input - I have looked at the Bently CS

CS,
Have had some of the same problems with several of my 911 cars. The door light problems almost always were bad door switches. Your situation almost sounds like you have a grounding problem and I wonder if the car has either been very wet or water inside at one time? Targa's can have this issue if someone left it outside for a long time with a bad or leaky top. Wish I could help more! Joe

Uhm...I've had the same Targa light/buzzer thing going on for the last 15 yrs. Nice to see I've got company. I thought it was just me.
The buzzer doesn't buzz when I open the door though. The light comes on normally and turns off when I close the door. The buzz only happens when the doors are closed and I turn the light on manually by pushing the lens reward. I guess we need a current flow guru to figure out the the relationship of the light \door and buzzer. Seems like a crossed wire somewhere. I have had the Targa-bar padding out once.

Well - fuel gauge proble is solved, found a disconnect during my light parade.
I wonder if this could be related to the relay itself. The circuit has a new hot wire for all - so I know it's good. The switches work when checked. I do have the door contact ground spliced in with the relay ground like it should, but maybe this is the problem. If the door contact/targa bar light were connected to thier own ground not through relay - problem in theory should go away. Does this make since to you guys? Other people seem to have a lot of these issues. I will try this after my trip - no time to mess with that now - I''ll just yank the warning relay.
