myster hose in trunk
Does anybody know what the fabric covered hose is for in the front trunk in this photo? It is not connected, is about 3/8" dia. and goes thru the grommet behind that wire bundle into the fender somewhere.
This is a '73/5 so it did have CIS. ALso, note the lack of grommets on the other two hoses -- do people with unmolested cars have grommets there? Thanks. ![]()

Part of vapor recovery system. Small line had a grommet (item 16 below) around it at wheel case penetration; large line connected to a tube (item 37 below) that was welded to and passed through the wheel case. Brake fluid reservoir vent/overflow drain was through bottom of front trunk just behind front bumper. See the below figure. Jim

Thx. I'll have to see what parts of the evap. system are left on this car. I know it has item 2 and is missing the charcoal cylinder.
Noah, they are hoses, but I take your point.
