cost estimate for polishing fuchs...

Can anyone give me an estimate of what would be a reasonable price to pay to have my late-model fuchs (black spokes) refinished so that the spokes are polished to match the lip of the wheel? I'm going to be shopping around for estimates and I'd like to know what would be a fair price. Thanks!

Al Reed. $100 a wheel.

Is that estimate based on a recent price quote from Al Reed? I've spoke to someone recently who say's he paid more than that, which is why I'm interested in considering other options. That said, however, it's clear that Reed has an excellent reputation for the quality of his work.

You pay different amounts for different finishes/paint schemes with Al.

(I remember when he was $50/wheel.)

I paid much less than that at Al reed but it was almost two years ago.
Prices have prolly gone up since then.

cost to polish fuchs

Al Reed just finished (4) 15" x 6" fuchs for my 911E. He dismounted my michelin tires, stripped the wheels, polished the paddles and rims, painted the centers and the back of the wheels satin black, polished the center caps and hand painted them with satin black, remounted my michelin tires, balanced the wheels, packaged them up and returned them by ups. Total cost $535 included shipping one-way from California to Delaware. My fuchs now look like jewels!! I'm going to send him my spare wheel this winter fot the same treatment!! He does a great job!!!

It was an "estimate." Al is super nice and only a phone call away;)

Al is the most "bang for the buck" when it comes to wheel polishing. Personally, I wouldn't trust anyone else (including me!) with my Fuchs.

That's what I paid for straight polish, no anodize/clear coat one year ago for the traditional five spoke finish on sixes.

I have a new guy that does the outside for $17 a wheel. Now, all of a sudden, I like black centers. :D He is not as good as Reed, so I wouldn't let them do the centers anyway.
