MOCAL oil Thermostat install
Does the Mocal external thermostat install as if it is factory??
Seems a Mocal 170 degree external therm @ $119 is a better choice than a factory 195 degree @ $350.. Phattey...

Depends, you have to change all the lines to hook up the AN fittings, either $30 a piece adaptor fittings, or $40 metric hose ends and use stainless braided lines. If you just need to repair or replace what you have, go that route.

It looks as if all I need to do is replace the "not working" thermostat without having to touch any lines - at least not at this first glance.
I'm in Florida and run the AC often, thus I think letting oil flow into the oil cooler @ 170 degrees seems reasonable to me. Thanks...

Mocal has AN fitting instead of metric, wrong orientation of the fittings, no pressure bypass, and the installations look kludgy. But other than that.....
