Rubber Seals - Where to buy?
Most of the various rubber seals (hood, trunk, door, top, etc.) in my 1970 Targa are dry and cracked. What's a good place to order all these seals at a reasonable price? I searched Pelican and ebay and didn't find anything.

Define 'reasonable'.
I just ordered $500 of seals/felts for the repaint. Many came from Performance (***************) and some from Tweeks (Mamotorworks.com) The stuff they don't carry, will be ordered from http://www.netsv.com/im/ If you order from Performance use code TP94N10 and save 10% on just about everything before Dec 1st. No affiliation.

It is poor manners to say the least to publicly promote other sales outlets on this Pelican board when Pelican sells the products. Also, be aware that the "reasonably priced" gaskets and seals are often not Porsche OEM and some of these fit rather poorly to the point of making glass/window installation difficult/impossible/leak prone. Buy from Pelican
If you enjoy this forum then support it. Pelican sells what your looking for and has good prices.
You will regret aftermarket rubber. They are poorly glued together, metal inserts rust and the front and rear windsheild glass seals don't! |

I second that. I have replaced various rubber seals, windows etc.
and always got it here. I think the prices are competitive and the fit and quality are good. You won't find much support around here for other suppliers that sell what pelican sells.

There are cheaper seal and gaskets out there, ask me how I know. They are not like OEM, and you will be able to tell the difference between a cheap "knock off" part and a good reproduction.

Buy the real deal for all windows. You may be able to get away with knock off's for other parts such as door seals.

weight reduction tip #45
loose all rubber seals, loose 5-6 pounds keep repeating to yourself and whoever is the passenger: "Race cars rattle , that's hard core " and "Shumacher doesn't have rubber seals when it rains, so i don't need em either"

These posts always amuse / annoy me. Always, Always first try Pelican before asking in their forum where the best place to buy something is. It is very poor manners if you don't.

I have a 69 Targa and a couple of years ago replaced most of the rubber seals and weatherstripping from Pelican. I'm very happy with the results. We like this board, use this board, let's give our host the business if we can...Fred C.
