Sales Scams?

My husband advertised his car for sale and got replies from a couple of international traders.

I can find no trace of them, anyone ever heard of:

Mike Wonder?

Rose Wickson?

Both seem to be buying sight unseen. I am very suspicious.

Isabo,
Most of the scams over here (USA) involve overpayment, with balance to be forwarded to the buyer - Or fake Cashier's Checks, or other Bank documents that are faked.

For example the buyer says; "I want to buy your car for $9000. Here is a bank draft for $11,500, which is already drawn. Please send me $2500 and we will then complete the shipping arrangements for the car." Seller is so happy to be getting his ASKING price with no haggling, he sends the $2500 right away, then never hears from this guy again!!

The safest way is to not let the car OR the tiltle to same out of your hands BEFORE the funds are verified and in your account. Most banks can expidite international transfers for a fee if you ask them to. If the buyer does not want to accomodate you in these matters, that's a big red flag for you..
Good luck...

Said before and will say again.

http://www.escrow.com/ or similar.

I'm selling (hopefully) a $35k boat on eBay right now and I'm not worried about the transaction at all. BTW, anyone need a Christmas present for that special someone? Think 'boat' this year!

Thanks Bill,
it was that type of scam I was thinking about.
Well, we'll go through the motions and see what happens.
