RS Door Panels

I Want to put the RS Door Panels in my 1981SC. Do they come in any other colors but black, preferably tan.

Thank you

I am not sure, but a note. My panels have warped....probably due to temperature differences...it was been below zero and up to 90 deg f here in Ohio. I wish I had known this. they look crappy then they warp and bow.

I have only been able to find black. However, you can always have them recovered with any color of material/leather...it just costs extra.

I think Appbiz sells black RS panels with the hardware, you could then have them covered in any color you like. Sam

You can get them without the covering so your not paying for upholstery you're going to throw away.

Mine are a sort of carbon fiber color from Appbiz. They look very nice. I'm not sure tan exists for the door panels.

And as Jbabic says, yes, they warp. You either have to pop mors screws into them to bolt down the warping, or simply pull the whole thing off and run race car naked - something to consider if you go with fg doors, I imagine.

What part of the door has warped? The whole flat RS panel? Does anyone have pictures?

Jason - on mine, the bottom portions have warped somewhat. Who knows why? Possibly from combinations of heat and cold. Regardless, like I said, screws should rectify the warping.

Colors?
No big deal. Just order the Porsche vinyl color (or leather) that you want and buy a pair of uncovered panels. Next have a local shop finish them up for you or do it yourself. Mine are cork colored.

Warping can be limited by using good moisure seals on both sides of the panel, using a water resistant panel material and by using a good number of attachment screws as David first suggested.

Thanks Yasir. No problems, the solid feel on the door stays. It really isn't a weight loss though. The OEM stuff is so light on the doors. You do get a good amount of room for storage at the door sill with them. I bought the seats a while ago with a much better exchange rate. I also used the Speedware mounts and OEM sliders which saved even more money. There are a couple of recent threads on the Ricaro Pole Position seats.

This is where I bought mine.
