Correct Wire Diag.

Does anyone have a a source of a correct '77 911s wire diagram for the headlights, with colors for the wires? I checked the '73 diagram that is here and my wires are a differnt color in some cases. Also the is a "jumper" on the diagram that I don't have. It's between fuse 1 and 2 also 3 and 4. Is there a source for these? Thanks

There is a useable wiring diagram for 1977 in the Haynes repair manual. In 1977 fuse position one isn't used; fuse positions 5, 6, 7 and 8 are used for the headlights. In 1977 fuse positions 5 to 6 and 7 to 8 are hard linked (jumpered) together respectively. The "hard links" are usually an integral part of the fuse block. In 1977, the high beams run off fuses 7 (right headlight- white and blue wire) and 8 (left headlight - blue wire); the low beams run off fuses 5 (right headlight - yellow wire) and 6 (left headlight - green and yellow wire). Cheers, Jim

Thanks Jim!! The Haynes that I have is not even close to my wires. I think that at some point the car was rewired. I am going to try the colors taht you sent me and see if that works. Thanks again-----Bob

Jim I forgot to ask. The " hard links " are not there. Does that mean that I have to replace the whole fuse block or can the be made up some other way? Also my #1 fuse is being used for something. Not sure what.

re last query:
This usually means a PO has been at work. You may have to trace the wires to find out what is going on. Do the wires from it look non-factory?

No they look to factory. Color and color strip. I don't think you can even find the color combo's that are in these cars anymore---Bob

Hmmm, if so, then why is there a fuse there? Or maybe you have some option that JS was not aware of in his post above?

The only option that I have is the after market a/c that hangs under the dash. The comp. etc is gone from the back only the hoses are still there.
The is also ( up front ) a 2 pin circuit-breaker all taped up. ----Bob
