CIS Breather Hose Question
Hi Folks...
I'm installing a CIS engine into my 911 until my engine rebuild is complete. Found two unattended breather hose connections. Can anyone advise what they should be connected to? The first is the black plactic tube coming out of the air box (upper red arrow). The second is a metal tube coming out of the shroud (lower red arrow). Both are on the driver's side of the engine compartment if that helps. Thanks. ![]()

They get connected to the fuel evaporative system. The 2 lines in the lower left of the diagram connect to the 2 nipples in your picture. You should have them in the engine compartment. You should check that all ther lines in your car are installed and not cracked and leaking from age. It vents the tank and keeps gas fumes contained.

Evaporative system
Ed...
Thanks for the diagram. My 911T is a Euro model... And there don't seem to be breather hoses coming to the engine compartment from the front. Can these nipples be simply plugged, or will the CIS have a fit? I'm running this engine temporarily.

You can plug the nipples temporarily, it won't affect the cis.
Check to see if you have any of the other lines and charcoal cannister up in the front trunk, and if you have the tank, item 3 in the diagram, in the drivers front fenderwell behind the headlight bucket. I am not familiar with the differences for Euro models. This system is not for emmissions, it contains the gas fumes and vents them safely to the intake manifold, and vents the gas tank so the fuel will flow properly.
