Are Targa dashboard's different?
I was driving an '86 targa and noticed the dashboard was not flat like cars i drove in the past. On the coupes I drove the dashboard was flat . This targa had a curve up then down to the windshield vent. Did Porsche change the dash shape in '87?
I know dashboards can crack, but can they buckle and warp to that extent? The dash material didn't appear water damaged. For the life of me I couldn't tell if that was a normal shape or damage. Trying to figure if I need to ask fir a lower sales price. |

It's warped. Sometimes they warp so evenly they look factory!

Here is a picture of my '84 Targa dashboard, I think some subtle changes were made through '87 but mostly to the dash vents.

Yeah, it's probably "uniformly" warped. Post a pic if you can. They did change the dash cap in 1986 though. The `86+ dash has a single large front defrost vent, and a larger center A/C vent . Also, the full-leather-option dashes are more smooth, and the "lip" is less pronounced. The leather dashes are the ones that usually warp badly.
