oil thermostat "fittings"

I remember that someone markets a fix for damaged threads on external oil thermostats. They are fittings that attach directly to the old threads. Does anyone know---

1) do they work well? ...and
2) where I can get them ?

I hope they can also be used on the inlet/outlets for a front mounted cooler. I was offered a deal on a factory unit with mildly "compromised" threads.

Thanks--I looked again and it's under "thermostat saver". This getting older thing isn't always that much fun......
