I used AC in my SC this year. Running great, plus they are super cheap here in Flint.

When I first got my 911 it had splitfire spark plugs. total POS snake oil plugs.
I changed them to NGKs and the difference was obvious.

champion rn9yc $.99 each I change them at every oil change.

I've never noticed any difference in the way the engine runs with any plugs, and I've tried them all so I decided to buy the cheapest ones and replace them often.

NGK appear to work just fine, cheap and I can get them at my favorite local parts store.

I just installed Bosch Platinum, made a significant difference over the Bosch standard plugs. Albeit I know not how long the plugs had been in the car. The old plugs looked like they were in excellent shape, no burning of the electrodes and a nice tan / white color to the porcelain insulators. The car started up immediately and idled smoother for sure.

Bosch suck. Had Bosch plat in the 71, pulled them out went to Champion copper. The car ran soooo much better. For the heck of it (and on the recomendation of an old P-car racer) swapped for NGK, not normally a plug I'd go for (other than in snowmobiles and motorcycles) and the car ran just as good, if not a little better. It takes some experimenting to find the right plug for each car, haven't played around with the 86 yet... Springtime will need to do the tune up, so I'll try the NGK trick again!

By the way, I'd normally stick to whatever is original, except I hate Bosch spark plugs, you really don't need platinum anything unless you have super high compression (more powerful explosion), and what's up with adding more prongs to the plug (+2 and +4), the spark can only jump to one at a time, the closest to the center. Talk about suckering in the Mustang drivers!

What is "normal"? I'd think copper is normal.

The NGK's have a designation C in the number to denote "copper" there are two different plugs. Just wondering which is "better" or prefered and why...

Never really heard about using NKGs, so I was surprised to find out how many shops recommend NKG over Bosch. Spoke with Black Forest in San Diego recently, for example, they said they use NKG - they feel the cars run better with NKG, idle better, etc.

As to why copper, they supposedly flux off heat from the electrode better, but thats what the heat number is for.

BTW - +1 for NGK

I've used bosch platinums for a few years, but I was constantly changing them due to missing after a short use time... maybe every other oil change. I'm now using the outrageously expensive NGK Iridium (made with unobtainium and snake oil) but they've been great so far. no missing... I wanted to try NGK coppers but they didn't have them in stock at my local Napa. The ricer sales guy suggested that I give the iridiums a try. maybe I'm gullible (spare no expense for my toy ;-) but they're not missing after 5k. boschs started going south on me quickly like within the first 3-5k...

What NGK models and gap would be recommended for an 84 3.2 with a SteveW chip?

84 and no chip

69E (2.0L w/ MFI)

Thanks
