Chin spoiler install question
Can anyone give me any tips or tricks for installing a chin spoiler ? This is a new install not a replacement . I just want to make sure I don't screw anything up . Thanks

I found it easiest to remove the valence and temporarily attach the spoiler with clamps so that I could mark and drill the mounting holes. If your valence is like mine it might take some banging on it to get it back to proper shape. Be careful not to tighten the spoiler to the valence too much or it will pull the bolts in the rubber and look funky.

I did mine with the valance on the car. I used some duct tape to hold it in place while I marked the holes to drill. Not a big deal except I didn't realize that one of the windshield washer hoses was laying right where I drilled a hole through the valance! Took about an hour start to finish.

I found Wayne’s book to be helpful, I also used those small ramps to raise the front of the car, that helped allot, also used tape like zzwhm and measured very carefully with small ruler.

buy the correct fitting kit.
did mine with the valence on the car. started by bolting the centre portion then worked towards each end. measure carefully for the holes that need to be drilled at the sides - two each side. (i believe the rest of the valence may be pre-drilled?)

Some time ago there was an excellent article in Excellence. I'll try to scan it.

Wayne's book is really helpful. U can buy the kit from pelican parts. It's quite a straight forward job. i did it with the valance on the car. I had to remove the bar that protects the A/C radiator. Took me 2h on my own from start to finish.
Good luck |

Small clamps and clothes pins, valance on the car.........................have POR-15 or other rust preventer around for the holes, plus "locktite" blue to help hold it all together over the long run.
Car jacks and stands, rubber matts and or cardboard to protect your hinney/tailbone. I don't remember using duct tape, but sounds like a good idea to help pre-fit it all. The 101 book is a must to have around.
