Help 911 2.7 wont start
Hi Guys
My 911 would not start a couple of days ago following a quick handwash. I assumed some water may have got to the distributer so opened but no water visible. Next day, car started fine. So I put it down to water touching soemthing and evaporation helping. Wrong I go to the car today turn the key and get a wierd BRRR or GRR noise. (It sounds a lot like an chuckless electric drill and the noise you get when you the chuck slips. - I hate describing noises). Does anyone have any experience here? thanks Andrew 911 1976, 2.7 no mods |

Um... what noise did it make the other day when you couldn't start it? The same?
I'm assuming, from your description, that it's making that sound instead of turning the engine... in which case, my further assumption is that the solenoid is not pulling the starter to the flywheel, and all that you are hearing is the starter motor spinning around freely... I hate describing noises too, but a little more detail (not the noise sound, but exactly what's going on) would help...

You can start laughing now.
Loose negative battery cable. Moral of the story - check the simple things. Andrew
