PowerSeat button/switch repl. parts
Anyone know of avalability of small parts needed to repair power seat control buttons?

Which buttons?
The up and down buttons, simply need a good cleaning, but they will probably fail again soon. Basically the contacts burn... I have cleaned mine twice now. It would be interesting to hear others results on replacing these. |
Nick,
No, already took both seat button mechanisms apart once... there's a white plastic carrier for two steel balls, one setup for each the seat back and seat bottom button, the carriers crack, and the steel balls fall out. I've super glued the plastic carriers once already... would rather fix 'em right this time. Was hoping someone had a better fix in mind. Any suggestions? Stubbornly avoiding buying all new mechanisms. Chris |
Same thing happened to me, burnt contacts, and cracked internal parts. I didn't want to pony up the big OEM dollars for new switches. I ended up buying these:
http://www.itcelectronics.com/pdtl.asp?P=3498 for a massive 3 bucks a piece, and fashioned a face plate to mount them in the seat. They are small enough to mount 2 side by side in each switch opening. As long as you aren't a stickler for original, and don't mind pulling the seat wiring out and doing a little soldering, this will do the trick. jason |
