Loud whistle at idle when hot
I have an occasional very loud whistle that shows up momentarily when the engine is hot and the car has just been restarted. When you step on the throttle it goes away but sometimes comes back as soon as you let off the throttle. I think this is some kind of small vacuum leak around an intake runner gasket where it meets the cylinder head. Anyone got ideas on how to isolate this and fix it? I already did a round of tightening the nuts that hold the intake runners to the cylinder heads but didn't fix it.

It could also be a belt, my fan belts made a shriek a while ago...

My car did the same thing, it was the intake gaskets. Don't tighten it down, you must replace them. This is a common problem.

Thanks for the help. I'm going to order the intake gaskets.
Also, I've added my make/model to the signature line.
