suspension question
building an rs clone out of a 1972 911T non sunroof coupe, with a 3.2 what size torsion bars were in the original rs? I plan on using the car for street/ some track and the occassional road race (2006 Targa newfoundland), so some comfort is important (my 84 track car had 23 & 31's...go kart but too stiff for street) Would 22/28 be a good setup, or 21/27...what allowances should I make for the increased engine weight?
setup: euro 3.2 with 964 cams, ssi's and 2/2dansk, safety devices cage, close ratio euro 915, real rs flares, undercoating stripped, etc etc

You have the two possibilities listed. 21/27 or 22/28-29
I have 21/27 and am very happy with them. It is a dual purpose SC with similar weight / engine. You can take up some of the remaining slack (roll) with big sway bars which won't hurt your ride quality. I recommend 21/27, but think that 22/28 will not be much harsher. George |

I have going to run 21f 26r in my 1971 with Short Stroke 3.2. I am also using late carrera sway bars 22f and 21r. I have not driven the car so I can not comment on the ride but I am hoping its ok for street driving as this is 95% road car.
Good luck Alan.UK
