My new custom bumperettes

Hi,
I got sick of my stock bumperettes and made some smaller ones. I made them out of 1/4" Alu plate. So here they are.

I am thinking that someday when I am tired of doing HP increases I will backdate my car. I am liking the idea and the look of backdating.

Dean

I can't seem to upload pics. I will try later

I'd like to see them. Apparently there is a software glitch with the forum and know about it and are working to fix it.

There's also a related thread on the Early 911S bbs.

just lose em completely :)

I think that one of the more entrapneural types reading this would be thinking of making replicas. I bet they could be pretty easily molded out of fiberglas. Maybe they could be vacuum formed out of plastic. I have been thinking about making some myself.

Sweet exhaust!!!!!
Any pics of that?

I like my stock bumperettes. I use them as an aid for high speed parking.

ditto. Some experiments work, some don't. If you want to save some weight, relocate the license plate lights and find some plastic bolt covers to hide the bolts.

Certain models of Jeep Cherokees have small, rubber bumperettes that look like they might work...sort of a 30% size of the US 911 version...

i just love how 95% of the profiles at http://www.owners-gallery.com/ are totally broken. I get all psych'ed up to see somebodys car only to be redirected to a page with 20 broken picture links.

Lets see the beast!!!

GeorgeK 12-09-2004 08:58 AM

I'd say lose them.

2nd vote for full removal. If not, good job on the fab ;)

I have no idea how I never ran across you when I was in Mass. Nice *localized burn* patina on the plate :D

cowtown 12-09-2004 10:37 AM

Hey Dean, it looks like you installed a LED strip into your whale tail for a third brake light? What are the details there?

Why not just buy a euro bumper?

Or just euro bumperettes if the actual bumper is the same.

Simon - LMAO at your avatar & quote!

On-topic: I like my Euro bumper pads, just like Simon's above.

dean 12-09-2004 03:25 PM

I didn't like the no bumperette look. Got have some bumperette.:p But not the big booty one.

Colin, that is a really nice (expensive) LED strip. I found it online at a motorcycle site.

Dean, what about your exhaust?
That is too cool looking.
Can we get some pics of it?
Thanks,
Wayne

dean 12-09-2004 04:13 PM

Here is a pic of the exhaust. I have since changed the U-bend a couple times now and it is hacked up. I like the center outlet except for the burned plate. And if I keep the center out I will have to build a valence for it. I haven't felt like it yet.

Deanhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1102641228.jpg

Oh Haha 12-09-2004 04:21 PM

Thanks, Dean. I think a valence with a cutout for the center outlet would be pretty sweet. Maybe if you put a slight angle down on the pipes they would be less likely to burn the plate. I don't have a turbo but thanks for the inspiration. I think I can make that style setup work for me.
