Help with AC hoses rubbing against tire

Along with other problems in the front of my car, I found out that the noise that occurs when I turn hard to port is actually some of the AC hoses that run through the back part of the driver's side front wheelwell rubbing against the tire. Here are some pictures of the problem:

I'm using 16 inch wheels with Kumho Ecsta 225/50R16 tires. The car is a '79 930 and was lowered by the PO.

Are these AC hoses and the dryer mounted correctly? It looks pretty kludgy with the tie wraps holding the hoses to the dryer. Does anyone know where these hoses should actually be mounted (for instance, on the other side of the dryer)? Does anyone have some pictures of this wheelwell on their car that I could take a look at?

Or should I be thinking about getting smaller (as in height from the wheel) tires?

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Doug

There should be two metal hose hold downs (look like two halfmoons attached side to side with a bolt in the middle, that clamps the hoses to the body.

When I installed my aftermarket AC I put the dryer between the strut and the fenderwall on the left side. The hoses also caused me problems, but if you move them further out towards the body they will clear. You can buy metal hose clamps like those mentioned above at ACE. Personally I would try to move the whole mess out 2" towards the body.

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years.
