US Grand Prix Seating

I am getting ready to purchase tickets for next years US Grand Prix and was wondering if someone could could give some advice on the best place to sit.
Seems like I heard that there was a Porsche Cup race before every Grand Prix. True?
Thanks

You cannot go wrong in Stand J. From my seats you can see cars exiting pit lane, braking from top speed into turn 1 (lot's of passing here also). There is a Jumbotron directly across the track, and if you are high enough up in the stand, you can see turns 2-6 also. Great seats, I have the same ones every year. I hope this helps.

I've gone every year. The last two years were the best because we watched the start from our seats near the start line, then after about 20 laps moved around the infield. There's a place near the begining of the infield short straight (turn 7?) where you can get really close to the track. Watching them launch out of that corner is truely awesome. Two years ago we were at the other end of that straight when Villenueve blew up his Honda right in front of us, and he stood and talked with us for a while.

I guess if you want to stay in one place, somewhere near turn one would be good. But you really miss a lot that way.

And yes, there's a Supercup race earlier in the day.

Unfortunately I won't make it next year because it falls on our 25th anniversary and I'm supposed to be in Paris (yawn).

Hey John, what row?

Wife and I have been going every year and have stand J also....love it especially 2004 race. Sectio 30, row U.

Most of the action was there with exception of Ralfs crash.

Fritz,

I am in section 12 row AA, 2004 was a great year, most of the action was right down if front of us.

I also agree with walking around on Friday and Saturday and taking advantage of different viewing locations. Just buy a General Admission ticket for Fri-Sat. and get some good seats for the race.

I'm in agreement here with the J stands up relatively high to see the infield is best for the race.

I really enjoy the infield seats around the hairpins after the short straight for qualifying and practice. You just have to love being that close and there seems to be a lot of action here during practice. I'm not a huge fan on traction control in racing, but they do sound quite cool launching between corners.
