That's and awesome car and is worth the money. The detail is great on those cars. I have a few AutoArts myself, but not this one...yet.

Very nice.

Let's see, if I get 18 of them then I'll have a full size 917 for only $1,260

BTW... do you, Curt, or any other poor, model-addicted souls have this 1:18 Minichamps (906 - 1966 H. Herrmann)?

Ja? Please comment on the quality and level of detail etc.

I don't have it Doug, but I did look at it in the shop a while back. It's very nice. Not Exoto-level detail of course, but typical Minichamps high-quality. This is another 906 that should be coming very soon - the 66 Targa Florio winner.

The AutoArt 917K, but the #3 car in Martini livery for $36 here.

Can't decide if I want this one or the Shell colors.

That's a great deal for a $60-$70 model. (and Doug, that's about the return you'll be getting on your diecast investment at retirement time! ).

Wink

Curt, et al:

What do you think of this 1:18 1979 Porsche 935K from Carousel 1? I haven't seen any of theirs in person.

My china cabinet, sans ex-wedding china, has a little more room. Not sure if glass shelves for diecast models is my smartest move, though.

You, sir, are a very bad influence on me!

Bob

They're not bad at all. Not quite up to Minichamps standards though, IMO.

A brilliant idea.....???

Curt once warned me that collecting 1:18's as I do, would soon over-run the house. While not quite at that stage, I am giving Mrs. Z's china cabinet covetous glances.

I think I might be able to pull it off, but I'm afraid of concussions.

I got that 917 LH, and yep, the details are fantastic~! Now if i could only find the Eagles Race dark blue Brands Hatch 917 (same graphics as the red #23 le mans winner , but in dark blue) then my collection of 917s would be complete. I waited too long and all the sellers no longer have any. boo hoo....

Well, I bought the ebay Martini 917, but I really liked this one:http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=19066&item=3570113085

The builders website has some REALLY outrageous stuff.

Just talked to my "pusher"....
He said the Autoart 917 LH (Elford) was available a while ago, and sold out quickly. Again in production, but will be a while arriving from the Chinese sweatshops. My order is in!

Holy Cow, Kurt! How many of these things do you have?!
I talked to Mark Haverman a couple of weeks ago at his store.
I ended up getting 996 GTSRS White/Blue. My cabinet is maxed out at this point.
See ya around,
Wayne

Cool store, huh? I mainly collect 1:43 Porsches now. I've got maybe 150 displayed. Another 300 non-Porsche models collecting dust in the attic somewhere ....

Minichamps will be doing a series of 917/10's in 1:43 scale next year.
