anyone watching ROC on speed TV?

ROC (Race of Champions)

top international drivers race on a mini track that is set up in a stadium in france...
includes M. Schumacher, J. Alesi, K. Brack, J. Johnson, D. Coulthard....etc...

they race in rally cars, Ferrari 360, special ROC buggies...

and believe it or not the buggies look like they are on early, Fuchs...hahahaha

interesting event.

Dissapointing. Might as well rented a go kart track. I think they could of come up with a better track and tests.

Pretty lame excuse for racing. Even Schumi in a Modena looked retarded.

I fell asleep just after it started but then I woke up to catch the exciting finish. Did anything "real' happen? God, what a lame excuse for a TV event.

yeah...interesting in concept...

why not just hold it at a real track????
Maybe even tear up the infield...to make it semi rally-ish

shorten the track, set up some grandstands on the track itself so people can get a good view of the smaller track...

run a few laps so it isn't so short and easy for one mistake to make or break the race...

sheesh....

someone should build 10 identical IROC RSR's and bring back the good old days of IROC

Yeah;
I don't think that the concept was that bad (although I do miss some loose surface running to make the pavement guys stretch a little bit). I do think that too many races were decided by people getting penelties for touching the barriers as well as cars breaking. The things that I do like compared to IROC....

1) They really do have drivers (champions even!) from around the world driving under various conditions and in various type cars. As opposed to the modern IROC where people from the US circle track community invite some others to try racing them around a circle tracking using stock cars. And how many non-stock car or non-oval track champions have raced in IROC recently. Scott Pruitt and who else???

2) The event is apparently a charity fundraiser.

3) The drivers really seemed to be having fun with each other. OK, Alesi and Schumacher were almost silly, but at least they weren't taking themselves too seriously.

they wouldn't be allowed (by sponsors etc) to race "seriously".
