Sound Insulation

Hello,

I'm considering replacing the tired old carpets in my 911. Whilst they're out I'm also thinking of adding some under-carpet sound-insulation. Do you have any recommendations on a good product, ideally one that is not prone to condensation build-up?

Thanks!

I would use Quick Coat or Kote and then some light wt. matting below the carpet.

Many long threads on this - a search will find a stupifying number. Use the term deadener or deaden not just insulation.

I did my whole car with lightweight soundproofing sheets that I purchased from Pep Boys for $19.95 per roll. 1.5 rolls did the whole car. Buy an adhesive spray too. It worked well and deadened the sound from the road by about 35%.

I'm in the process of putting in the B-quiet 'extreme' sound deadener that replaced 'brown bread'. I am also putting in their L-comp and finally a new carpet set from appbiz via our host.

I second the Lcomp... used strategically. I covered the rear deck before putting the RS set in.

It brought my car from "too loud to drive at all without earplugs" to "tolerable for short drives without earplugs". Additonally, I can actually talk to a passenger without shouting.
