Do I REALLY need to do this?
I'm trying to decide whether to breakdown and send my 100 bucks to Porsche to get the Certificate of Authenticity. I'm just trying to find out what the original engine number and interior color was, not to have something to show for concourse display. Is there another way I can find out what the original equipment was that my '75 Silver Anniversary came with? I'm having some trouble finding any REAL info on it in books like Original 911.

If you call them they will tell you, you only have to pay if you want it printed out.

call who? A local dealer or PCNA? I actually started with Brumos, and they pointed me in the direction of the CofA.

PCNA.

I called - they wanted $$. If you can get the info over the phone then post here.

I believe their database (for phone info) only goes back to the new serial numbers (those that begin with WPO). So, you would probably have to order the Kardex to find out. It's worth a shot though. Give them a call @ 1-800-PORSCHE and choose the "customer commitment" option to talk with a rep.
