73 911 wire into the seats?

Anyone know what the wire is that runs into both seats on my 73 911 E.

I am relacing the carpet, took out the seats and am just curious as to what the wire is for.

Thanks,

Chris

73 is one of the first years with a seat belt warning light.

The light is on the dash above the ashtray.

cars in the 73-75 year range had seat contacts that wouldn't allow the starter to operate until the seat belt was fastened. most have had the relay bypassed by now. (cut the C and 50 wires on the relay and attach them together).

You can also use that wire to make part of a shift light if you put a circuit on it that triggers at red line. Think of the fun when a passenger sees "Fasten Seatbbelts" light up when you hit red line.....
