Front Hood Vent Seal

I took off the hood vent to repaint it. When I took it off, there was the remains of some felt-like seal in there, which didn't survive the removal. I searched all of the seals in the catalog and didn't find it. Anyone know what should be in there, or was it just some crap left over by the PO?

I did the same thing and had the same results. I simply used black electrical tape slit lengthwise. Seemed good enough for this application.

Plus it was readily available and cheap

I replaced my grill and there is a foam seal there. Mine was still intact so I didn't replace it.
They might be available ?
I wouldn't mind picking one up myself to replace mine. It's probably there to help with air leaks and rattles, just a guess.

Just ordered mine a few days ago. I am getting water leaking on the drivers side carpet. A fellow Porsche owner had the same problem and changed the vent seal and it went away. Hope mine ends the same way.

Porsche Crest seal

The foam / felt seal is definitely NOT part number 90157132532.

I can send you a picture of that part so you can see it's not the foam / felt type of seal you're looking for.

I think the felt / foam is part of the grill frame and you can't buy it seperately.

Porsche Crest pics

Hi Steve,

Here are some pics. Part # 90157132532 seals the fresh air inlet box, not the hood vent you're talking about.

VaSteve et al--

I repainted mine a couple of years ago and found the same remains. IIRC, that seal is NLA; Pelican sent me some high density foam Porsche to use in its place - worked just fine. I'll try and find the rest of it and see if there is a part # on it.
