targa roll bar skin
I am pulling my targa roll bar skin off and am taking it to a body shop for paint. My car is an 87, guards red. I know I paint it black but. Is it flat, powder coated, anodized. What exactly do I say to the body shop.
Also the Targa emblem is silver is this right or should it be black as well. Last edited by strep; 12-19-2004 at 05:00 PM.. |

Paint it semi gloss black. I did and it looks great. I think it even looks better than the original color. Its a good black and it fits the car very well.

Satin Black
I repainted mine myself. I used Satin Black by Rustoleum: not too glossy, not too flat. I used a self-etching primer by VHT, and sanded it smooth prior to painting it black.
No idea on powder coating or anodizing, original was painted. A lot of people here recommend Wurth's paint for the Targa bar. I also ended up polishing the Targa script/badge. Can go either way. I like the way the polished script stands out against the black bar cover. Gordo

I will be doing this soon to mine. I have searched a bit but I was wondering if there is a good thread with pics for removing the targa bar skin? Anyone know.
