South Orange County Gruppe Ortega Highway Holiday Run - Who's in ?

Alright, I am getting the feeling that we are not as organized as before so I am stepping in. Are you guys interested in a run this weekend Sat, Dec. 11th. Temperature is predicted at 70°. All are welcome and so are Ducatis and newer Turbos with "GFORCED" on the plate. The last Fallbrook run was a little complicated so we may do a simple run this time with breakfast or lunch somewhere but I would like to see all of you there.

Chris

I should be able to make this one, assuming my car is back together.

What do you say to Glendora Ridge Rd. and have lunch in Mount Baldy? I dont think snow is that low, could be wrong.

Steve Wong and I are going to hook up this weekend and get the 3.5L optimized for the dyno next week. Maybe I can convince him to come down and enjoy the run rather then me going up to Los Angeles...

I am IN! Hopefully I'll have no lingering effects of my birthday celebration (Friday is my b-day).

Jason, that car of yours better be ready with that new motor so I can assume the role of lowest powered Porsche in attendance.

Of course, I'm looking forward to seeing a map since I have no idea of any of the areas you guys are talking about.

Where and what time are you going to meet? The 914 club is having a fun run on saturday through Ortega. We're meeting at a Best Buy parking lot in Corona at 8 (but we wont leave until 9ish).

Christian, GRR is a great mountain road but I don't know the way the roads are this time of year. We should plan a run on the route we did last summer. The weather was perfect and the roads were clean.

Sam, if you get a chance it would be good to see how the roads are this time of year. Did you sell your M yet?

Todd, you have to come out to one of the OC runs one of these days. It's probably at least an extra 30 miles.

Dave, happy early birthday and drink one for each one of us but start early so you will be sober by morning. I will probably be in the back with you on the run.

As far as Saturday, it seems like we have some interest. We could meet up with the 914 guys but they leave later than we usually do and from a totally different location.

Interested so far:

Maybe the Murrieta guys will meet us like last time.

Usually, we meet on Ortega Highway off the 5 freeway which is the other side and between 6:30 and 7:00 but since its a Saturday we could leave a little later so some of you guys could get a little extra sleep.

Hmm, it looks like you're going east through ortega and we're going west. Are you running back through ortega when you get to elsinore?

Hi, I'm the guy in charge of the 914club ortega run. Last month we had 22 cars go on the run, we are looking at about 10 this time. we do this monthly and you guys are welcome to join us. we run back roads from corona to elsinore, then we go over ortega to laguna beach and eat at the rubys diner. we leave corona at 10:00 AM and eat by 12:00 in laguna. you guys are welcome to join us on your return back to the coast.

Thanks

Any chance for a run after 11AM? I get off work at about 8:45 AM from LAX and it'll take me until about 11 AM or so to get home, get changed, and get outta there.

Anyone like the idea of sleeping in?

Boy, the 11th is going to be a busy Orange County Porsche day.
The 356 and 912 groups are running also.

OK, after offering to do several "bribe" chores, I have permission to go on the ortega run saturday morning. mark the calender, this is a rare event. Usually I have to sneak out without permission

I drove up and checked out the conditions at Mt Baldy and unless it warms up a lot I wouldn't recommend it, pretty much socked in.

I would post the pictures I took but the system won't let me.
