RS Lightweight FS

http://www.autocollections.com/index.cfm?key=1317&action=details&tab=inventory

Ad text:
1990 Porsche Carrera 4 RS Lightweight Chassis no. 964004 Porsche built 20 of these cars. This very rare car is a lightweight version of the Carrera 4. It uses the same engine as the RS, but without catalytic converters or mufflers. The engine produces 300 bhp. To save weight it has an aluminum front lid, aluminum doors, plexiglass side windows and a fiberglass rear engine lid.

I suspect they kept the ugly wheels due to thier light weight. Besides the Cup 1's wern't designed yet in 1990

I wonder what the actual weight is? Stock was around 3100-3200lb. I'd be surprised if it was less than 2700lb.

Curious to see that exhaust too - can't get a dual outlet arrangement with OE 964 headers/cat bypass/muffler bypass(s). RS Americas were single outlet (pass side) with the above arrangement. It must have custom headers or early no-cat 993-style exhaust (which would get it close to 300HP)

Methinks I have something to shoot for when I get my hands on the '90 C4 this spring ...

According to Excellence was Expected the weight of the C4 Lightweight is 2,425 lbs., a 24% reduction from stock. Wow that is impressive.

2425lbs! Damn!

I don't think it is for sale ... that link was showcasing a car in the Imperial Palace car collection in Vegas.

PS - It says 1,100kg on the site for the C4. That's 2,200# in my book. It must FN-FLY!
