Clearbra/Stongard - Pros and Cons of putting it on a 1989?
Wondering about having a clearbra (i.e. Stongard) applied to the front of my new to me 1989 Carrera. Sure, the car already has some minor rock chips from the past 60K miles, but it seems like it might be a good idea to help prevent future ones. Car is my daily driver.

P.S. You can also get 3M Scotchcal in sheets. For a 911, you probably don't need to buy a kit - just get a sheet, use large sheets of paper to make templates, and cut your own. The shapes you would need on a 911 are very basic, particularly if you are doing just the hood and areas under the headlights.

Go for it. I hope to do the same to a mid-30k miles '90 C4 next year.
The 3M brand and Aeroguard (military spec) I've seen is easily removed too - not sure if it's reuseable though (due to stretching). Some good sites; www.clearmask.com www.armorglove.com
