Hood seal glue?
During recent rains, I found water had gotten inside my front trunk. My hood badge had come loose this summer. So I ordered a new badge, gasket, etc, and a new seal for the trunk lid.
Neither of these jobs are as simple as I expected. The badge is secured with nuts that are hard to access and the seal is glued in place. How do I get the badge on/off and what type of glue is appropriate for the seal?

For the hood crest, you need an 8 mm deep socket or normal socket w/extension. Make sure you use new nuts to install the crest and don't snug them down very tightly or they'll strip.
For the weather stripping, use 3M weatherstrip adhesive which is available at any auto parts store. |

IMHO, the water running into the trunk is a result of the weatherseal around the periphery of the trunk and not from the two hood badge holes. You can check this quickly by temporarily taping the hood badge holes then spray water over the front end. If so, you can adjust the front latch to bring the hood down further against the seal (rubber cones on the front corner too).
