2.7 engine distributor advice
I have a slightly race modified 2.7 engine in my 71 911. (--11.5:1 J&E pistons, oil chain tensioners with mech. stops, Carrera 2 oil pump upgrade, race valve covers and heat shields, Race valves, springs and keepers, SS heat exchangers, RSR profile cams, big air intake heads and carbs, rods are lightened and balanced)
I want to upgrade the distributor on it from the stock one thats in there. Any suggestions/links to good distribs for a modified engine?

I would go thru your distributor with new bushings and recurve the advance to opitimise it with the cam grind you are using. Your average hot-rod shop with a distributor machine can do this for you. You will need to supply the curve requirements. You might think about replaceing the points with a pertronix unit or something like that.

I've wondered about ditching the distributor, has anyone gone this route?

0.231.184.004 is the Bosch part number that supercedes the '73 RS distributor 0.231.169.011 ...

I was just looking at Harold's engine specs and wondering...why isn't this beast twin-plugged? His CR is well up there where twin-plugging is typically talked about. If he did twin-plug, what would be better distributor specs for the 2.7RS engine? I'm also asking this in case I install a twin-plug dizzy in the future on my soon to be 2.7RS. Thanks and Happy Holidays!
