Chain Housing Gaskets:curil T or permatex copper coat?
Or dry.
Dry didn't seal them up last time so I'm thinking about trying something a bit different. What will work better? Thanks. |

surface the ends of the housings on a sheet of sandpaper on a flat surface first. they're always warped a bit. dry is supposed to work, because the gaskets are coated with some sort of sealer, but sometimes there's minor seepage. i use K+W coppercoat spray. let it tack up before using.

If they are flat and torqued evenly and to the correct spec, they should not leak when installed dry. I keep sealants to a minimum, especially in an engine that is full of spray bars, piston squirters etc.!
