Saw a GT on the Road! (pic)
I was driving on highway 5 north in San Diego when I heard it. I thought it was a low flying F-18 coming out of Miramar MCAS. By the time I figured out what was passing me, I almost creamed my pants.
They were in the (very un occupied) car pool lane and he had to be doing 130 when he blew by. I stepped on it in my car just to get another look but he was flying. I was bummed that it happened so quickly. But then I saw him moving to the right lanes and figured out that he was getting off at the same exit I was. I was able to fumble around and get my camera phone and shoot this pic. Right after I did this, he tore out of there and left me in a cloud of smoke, did a 190 degree turn and headed back to the highway. He was definitely giving that car a run. Either that, or he stole it. I did a little research and came to find out that it was the same GT that was hit by a plumbing truck on the day he took delivery (over 100K in damage), but that is another story........... ![]()

Great work. The sound at that speed must've been incredible. Some of my Ferrari racing buddies say the GT was the best sounding car they had ever heard. (They complimented every other aspect of the car as well)
Oh, and great year for that cab of yours ![]()

Thanks. Too bad I am looking to get rid of it (time to upgrade). Not a bad reflection on the hood either, eh?
One thing Porsche has always been able to master, is the audibles of their cars. Incredible how it sounded. But I like the sound of all of them......
