would you trust jb weld this much???
i 'm rebuilding a 2.4l 911t cis engine. inside the case i found the oil pump pickup tube was bent up from a incorrectly installed oil sump strainer. the tube actually was loose in the pump flange and touching the intermediate shaft. i removed the tube and cleaned up the flange from what looked like old epoxy.
the question at large is... would you guys trust jb weld to hold and seal that tube in place under heat and vibration of a running engine??? it looks like the factory used epoxy and no mechanical means to secure it. ( the tube). what do you think? i think what happened was that someone did not carefully position the strainer hole over the tube, then proceeded to tighten the sump plate pushing up on the bottom lip of the tube!!!

it was glued from the factory, but it had a snug fit in the pump too. if it still fits tight, and it's not bent, i don't see a problem regluing it.
