Hi guys, can anyone suggest a good sealant for the cv dustboots on my early car?Thanks,T.C.

The factory manual recommends a 3m sealantwhere the boot fits over the lip on the cv joint,that isn't made anymore.

I've never used anything there. Some people put a hollow tube in there to provide air flow -- the opposite of what a sealant would do.

I expect some of the people who have bee Porsche mechanics for decades will post sooner or later. If you are in hurry, just forget about it.

Don't seal 'em with a chemical product. Make sure the area is nice and CLEAN - then let the boot float. You can zip tie (loosely!) and insert a spray can tube before tightening up (cut to about 1/2").
